Was so unsure about purchasing shoes online without trying on. However, follow through and support are amazing, with queries and uncertainties answered quickly.
Reminiscent of the old sandshoes I grew up with, the fit is just wide enough, length perfect and so easy and comfortable to walk in.
I will be coming back for another pair, possibly the olive-green hemp.
Really great, only thing that could potentially be improved on is its wicking ability - for me, they feel damp after just a couple hours of wear during the day, unlike other socks (but perhaps that may be because other socks contain a percentage of nylon/other polymers).

I’m very happy with these shoes!! It’s very stylish and the soles are comfortable. I was skeptical about the cork material at first, but it’s holding up well. I hope you come out with wide feet friendly shoes too. I’m somewhere between “average” and wider feet, so it’s definitely not something I’d be wearing to walk around the whole day BUT that’s a personal experience due to my feet width, not an issue with the shoe itself.
This is my second pair of Collective Canvas footwear. The first I purchased what seems like two years ago and they are still going strong. I enjoy that they are comfortable to wear, a relaxed look to go with my lifestyle and made with products with thought to the environment.
Generally, these just feel great. A bit stiff at first, but are breaking in. Breathable, sylish- and a relief knowing there are no toxic chemicals used in the making of this shoe! I debated buying a cheaper option from another brand, but it feels good to invest in the 'right' product that aligns with eco values. Cheers.
I love my news shoes, they feel nice and solid and feel like they will last a while, unlike others I've recently had. Small issue with one of the laces which had a small fray and us beginning to fray a bit more.
Absolutely love these shoes. They seem really good quality and look great. Happy to be able to buy NZ made shoes that are both vegan and made sustainably. Regarding fit, I am usually 39 but went for 40 having measured my foot and used the chart on the website - this was helpful as 40 is a good fit.
I like the colour, as l find it hard to get socks that go with shorts in the summer, the sock that you can get are either white or black. Jacob

I have difficult feet, chubby, wide and a high instep. This was my second pair of Hemp shoes, I have brown and now blue. I love the colours, comfort and sustainability of these shoes.

Good comfy sneakers and wide enough for a slightly wider foot. The inner sole is quite stiff and firm when compared to chucks or vans but still comfy - think Birkenstock soles. Would buy again.
Love these shoes. Super comfy and they have moulded to my feet which is great. Would definitely recommend.
This is my second purchase from Collective Canvas. I got them because I was so impressed with the first pair I bought. I love the designs, and they're made with top quality materials. They also fit me perfectly, and are very comfortable to wear.
Comfy shoes but not convinced they are worth the hassle. The laces gave out and snapped almost straight away, and had to be replaced (happened to both sets). Then the canvas colour faded quickly, the shoes are now a ashy/dark grey colour. Lastly, they tore from under the ankle to the sole. I will try and get them repaired but not sure I would purchase again. I've had the shoes less than a year.
Hi Donald, thanks for the feedback - genuinely appreciate it as even more challenging reviews provide good points for us to be continually improving against.
1. Re the laces - this has been a ongoing problem that's plagued some of our production over the past few years. We've finally changed suppliers so this shouldn't be an issue going forward. I wish you'd reached out at the time - we send out replacement sets to everyone who needs them.
2. The fading on our darkest colour pairs is a difficult compromise we've had to make when using environmentally friendly dyes.
3. The 'tearing through from the ankle to the sole' definitely isn't typical of our quality and is hard to gauge without seeing photos, but this can happen with a lot of wear over a long period of time. It's something that all canvas sneakers have to contend with, as natural fibre canvas ultimately doesn't have quite the same shear strength when compared to some synthetics. We think it's a compromise worth making however!
This is the first pair of sneakers that haven't given my husband a blister. He wore them for a whole day from new with no problems and commented how comfortable they were for a new shoe. The casual and old school style was a winner! plus the natural fabrics +! Would definately love more of this brand.
the shoes are very comfortable and are very well made. if you are between sizes after measuring your feet i would suggest sizing up as i feel like they will be a little tight in warmer weather (although the material may also relax a bit). i will say, the olive colour is far more olive than the pictures show (the pictures look more sage to me, however in real life the shoes are darker and have more of a true olive colour, maybe even khaki). overall pretty happy with my purchase, and love how sustainable they are!!
I switched to barefoot/minimalist shoes almost 10 years ago. although these don’t exactly fit into that category. They’re very comfortable with the foot issues I have. I would prefer a slightly wider toe box but overall extremely happy with these shoes. Comfortable and stylish. I kind of want one of every colour!
These are the comfiest shoes I've ever bought. Really happy with my purchase. true to size and they mould to your feet quickly. I am definately going to buy some of the other styles to add to my wardrobe!
